Is Packz Legit? Why It's 4.7 on the App Store and 1.7 on Trustpilot

Packz has the widest ratings gap of any platform we’ve researched. About 17,000 people give it 4.7 stars on the App Store. On Trustpilot it’s sitting at 1.7. Both can’t be the whole truth, so we went through what each side is actually saying.

Short version: Packz is a real, funded US company that pays out quickly. Most of the anger comes from its promo terms and ID checks, not from people failing to get paid.

The basics

Packz, Inc. sells single-card Pokémon and sports packs from $5 through an iOS app and a website. It’s US only and checks your device location. It raised $10.7M in April 2026. There’s no Android app.

Why the App Store likes it

Reviewers there mostly talk about two things: depositing with Apple Pay is easy, and withdrawals are fast. Packz advertises 30 to 60 minutes for RTP, Venmo and PayPal, and users say money usually lands within about 30 minutes once their ID is verified. That’s quick for this category.

We’d add one caveat. Apps that prompt you for a rating inside the app, often right after something good happens, tend to collect high scores. We think that’s lifting the 4.7 a bit, and we flag it on the listing.

Why Trustpilot doesn’t

The Trustpilot profile is small (46 reviews) and nobody from Packz has claimed it, so no one replies. The complaints cluster around three things.

1. “Risk-free” promos. Several people say they signed up for a promo they thought would refund their losses, and got the refund as bonus funds they couldn’t withdraw. Read the terms on any promo before you use it.
2. Repeated ID checks. Some users report being asked for ID and selfies again and again before a withdrawal went through.
3. Shipping extras. Shipping and shipping-protection fees come up a lot. One App Store reviewer said a card took about two weeks to arrive against a one-week estimate.

The 72-hour rule

This is the thing we’d most want a new user to know. If you don’t ask Packz to ship a card, it’s automatically sold back after 72 hours. The buyback is at “fair market value,” and Packz doesn’t publish a percentage. So if you rip a card and forget about it for a few days, the decision gets made for you, at a rate you can’t check in advance.

What the odds look like

Credit where it’s due: every pack shows value-range odds before you buy. On the $25 Pokémon Starter pack, 44% of pulls are worth $12.50 to $17.50, and another 25.6% are worth $17.50 to $25. Put those together and roughly 70% of pulls are worth less than the pack price. Packz doesn’t state an expected value, so you can’t tell exactly how much you lose on average, only that most pulls come in under.

Scoring it

We give Packz 4.4 out of 10.

• Reputation 4.0. The 4.7 App Store and 1.7 Trustpilot scores average out to 3.2★, and the rating caution takes another 1.5 points off.
• **Fairness 2.0. Value-range odds help, but there’s no provably-fair system and no EV.
• Payouts 6.0. Fast verified withdrawals, knocked down for ID friction and promo terms.
• Value 5.0. No published buyback rate, the forced 72-hour sell-back, and odds skewed below pack price.
• Experience 6.0. A good iOS app, but you have to contact support to deactivate your account.
• Support 4.0. No replies on its public review page.

Our take

If you’re in the US, you want fast payouts in regular dollars, and you’ll stay on top of the 72-hour window, Packz works. Skip the “risk-free” promos unless you’ve read exactly how the refund is paid.
