Overview
Courtyard is the platform most people mean when they say “digital packs.” It’s venture-backed ($30M Series A in 2025) and polished, with real fiat cash-outs and a large, insured vault of graded cards. The buyback is fast and simple at around 90%.
What holds its score back is fairness transparency. There’s no provably-fair system, card values come from Courtyard’s own pricing algorithm, and the odds are published as value ranges rather than per-card chances. Disputes over those valuations are the most common theme in its critical reviews.
What the numbers say
On the $25 Pokémon Starter pack, Courtyard’s own distribution panel shows an average item value of $24, about 96% of the price. Most pulls land between $17 and $25, and only about 2% are worth $50 or more. A third-party newsletter test of a $499 pack reported buyback offers at 80–90% of comps and chase odds sometimes under 1%.
